Abbott, Arlo

I grew up in Kirkland Washington, I competed in many different athletics as a child. I continued with athletics narrowing it down, focusing on select soccer and baseball throughout high School. I continued on as a scholarship collegiate baseball player in Washington State. I'm married to my wife Monica and we raised our son Kyle in the greater Albuquerque, New Mexico area. I coached and taught my Son in all Athletics until he narrowed his sport to Tennis. I played a lot of Tennis with my son throughout is youth and High school Years teaching him as far as I could with Tennis. I've been training and competing in pickleball for nearly Three years. At 49, which I will be turning 50 in October. I have just started my Senior Pro debut. I am extremely excited to be able to compete at the highest level with the Champions Pros.

Baze, Susan

Susan began playing Pickleball in 2014 at a church gymnasium organized by the Pickleball Hall of Fame Ambassador Jack Thomas. She quickly developed a passion for the sport that led her to participate in over 120 tournaments across the country. Susan’s highest achievements include three US Open Champion titles in the 5.0 division, three USA Nationals medals in the 5.0 division, and numerous other medals in local and regional tournaments. She has been on the Selkirk Pro Team since 2018. 

Her sports background includes softball and tennis. 

Even as the game is evolving, at age 59, Susan feels she is playing her best Pickleball. Susan is also an Ultrasound Clinical Specialist for Hologic and a Realtor in AZ and NV. She resides in Scottsdale, AZ with her husband Tim and they have a son and daughter, Trent and Taryn. 

Boschi, Mario

As a son of Italian immigrants, Mario Boschi was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Whether it was a puck, a soccer ball, or a basketball, Mario was a star athlete. He received a college scholarship for basketball and then played premier recreational soccer until he was 50 years old. He successfully ran a Honda/Acura dealership in his hometown for 27 years. He has received the Honda Council of Excellence Award for his leadership and work for Honda/Acura. After moving to the States to be with his wife, Mario along with his wife formed The Boschi Group and the Boschi Pickleball Group, a coaching and consulting business. In 2020 Mario received his Level II Pickleball Instructor Certification (IPTPA). He has also a certified Neuropickleball Trainer. In the last three years, Mario has been teaching in Steamboat Springs and the Denver community. At 55 years old, Mario decided to go into senior pro-level competition and is excited to be a team co-owner and player for the Denver lconics. Mario is excited to participate in the inaugural season of the National Pickleball League. 

DeCaprio, Tom

Tom DeCaprio is a Co-Founder of NPL and is originally from Westchester County, NY, he was first introduced to the sport of Pickleball in 2015 and currently plays at the Senior Pro Level. Tom has 25 years of Sports Marketing and Sponsorship Sales experience having worked for two major sports leagues, he was Director of Sponsorship Sales for the NHL’s Tampa Bay Lightning and most recently as the VP Sales and Asst Tournament Director for the Chrysler (Valspar) Championship. He has broad experience in brand activation, sponsorships, event operations and marketing and was instrumental in bringing in the title sponsor for the Tampa Bay PGA Tour event (PODS). Tom played professional golf for over 10 years on many tours around the globe including the Nationwide Tour and Canadian Tour.Tom currently resides in Tampa, Florida where he owns DCM Sports Group that specializes in golf tournament sponsorship and event management consulting.

Endara, Matt

Career: GE Healthcare, Sales Specialist Co-founded ELEV8 Pickleball recently. Fliegelman, Scott

Scott began teaching tennis at the age of 15, as a highly ranked junior player. He would go on to play at the D1 College level, and then professionally, all the while continuing to share his knowledge with students of all levels. Over the following decades, Scott would add skiing, snowboarding, running, cycling, and triathlon coaching experience, until pickleball beckoned him back to the courts in 2019. 

Scott is an IPTPA Level 2 Pickleball Instructor and Director, which includes the duties of certifying new instructors across Colorado. As a pro player, he is currently ranked in the Top 5 overall Senior Pro players on tour (doubles + singles) with a 5.5 DUPR rating. He has more than two dozen pro podium appearances in the past three years, including as the 2022 USA Pickleball Nationals Silver Medalist in Men’s Doubles. Flynn, Tracey

Tracey started playing pickleball in 2008 and quickly became addicted to the game finding an easy love for tournament play. Hailing from a division one basketball program at George Mason University, competition was a missing puzzle piece until pickleball came along and created new challenges. She is especially excited about the team concept of the NPL coming from basketball as a team sport! 

Tracey recently took gold in Punta Gorda, 5.0 mixed, silver in 5.0 women’s and in Minneapolis at the PPA Indoor Championships -silver in Senior Pro with Mark Milner. 

Tracey resides in Mercer Pennsylvania with her husband-David, and her little dog Miss Twinkie. She has taught senior level geography for 20 years and most recently hiked Mount Kilimanjaro-the highest point on the African continent.

Gallegos, Patty

My name is Patty Gallegos. I am 57 years old and have played pickleball for approximately 6 years. My journey started by being introduced to the game by some close friends at a local park. This was right after we became empty nesters and what a great way to fill the gap. Our first tournament was a team tournament, and we represented the 3.5 level group. This got us connected with many people and the addiction began to grow. Slowly as I kept playing my game grew and here I am today playing at the 5.0 and Senior Pro level. I am very blessed that I get to played mixed with my Husband Donnie. It has been a great adventure for us. I was an educator for 30 years at the Middle school level. I served many roles as a teacher, counselor and administrator. Currently I still work as an in home Counselor, I also run operations at tournaments for National Pickleball. I not only love pickleball as a way to continue to compete competitively, but I love the community it brings. Anyone can play, male, female, young, old, disabled, and I just love that!! 

Granot, Dan

I have been consistently in the top 10 for the last few years in both doubles and mixed doubles. I have been a part time player for the last couple years as I own a small real estate company in Atlanta and have three daughters... with one still in the house. In 2023, Mircea Morariu and I won Punta Gorda and got silver in Boca.

Harris, Kris

Kris is a multisport athlete that discovered pickleball through YouTube while living on Ocracoke Island in North Carolina. Her pickleball passion precipitated her move to Florida to explore her pickleball dreams. 

Kris is a practicing Physical Therapist and adaptive exercise specialist in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was an NCAA Academic All-American fastpitch softball player at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. When not working or playing pickleball, Kris is an avid gardener and mixed media artist. 

Mihelic, Kathryn

Kathy Mihelic is absolutely thrilled to be drafted to her hometown team, the Denver Iconics! Kathy is a PPR Certified Pickleball Professional, a three time silver medalist of the Margaritaville USA Pickleball National Championship Tournament in Indian Wells, California, and a sponsored player for Team HEAD Pickleball. Kathy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from the University of Colorado, Boulder and her Master’s Degree in Business from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas. Kathy was a member of the University of Colorado Women’s Tennis Team and went on to be a tennis teaching pro for many years when she lived in Kansas before entering the corporate world, having careers in office furniture, pharmaceutical, and biotech sales. Kathy met her husband Dan in their freshman year at CU in Boulder and they have been married 33 years. After having raised their two children in Wichita, they moved back in Colorado in 2015. The newest love in her life is her first grandchild, Margot (born in April). When Kathy’s not spending time with her family or playing, competing or teaching pickleball, she enjoys hiking, biking and snow skiing. Her craziest sports adventures over the last 10 years include competing in a full distance Ironman Triathlon, biking the Copper Triangle, cycling up Mount Evans, the Pikes Peak Ascent, and hiking the Boulder Skyline Traverse. She enjoys happy hour with friends, and her motto for both happy hour and pickleball is “Dink responsibly and don’t get smashed”!

Montgomery, Chris

Chris Montgomery has been playing Pickleball for 10 years which is an eternity in Pickleball years. Chris is excited to be an owner of the Denver Iconics while also being able to play for the team. Chris is thrilled with the team we put together and looking forward to an exciting season. In his day job Chris is the managing partner at Four Points Funding, a real estate fund that builds housing in Colorado.

Moore, Scott

Ojeda, Kelly Henry

After a distinguished USTA juniors career, including being a finalist in the French Open Juniors , Kelly continued her tennis journey at USC. While at USC, (and teammate of Beth Bellamy) the team won a NCAA championship and Kelly earned All-American honors all four years. Over the past year, Kelly reenergized her competitive nature and made it her new goal to play against the best Pickleball Champions. She feels blessed the NPL is giving her that opportunity. When not on the Pickleball court, Kelly works as a Registered Nurse for the California Department of Public Health ensuring healthcare facilities follow regulatory requirements. She is married to husband John, and is also the proud mother of four adult children, 2 dogs, and 5 cats. 

Svensson, Johan

Thompson, Linda

Have been playing pickleball for 6 years. Played tennis at Ohio State, briefly in Europe. Played platform tennis at the national level reaching top 8 in country. Have been teaching pickleball all over the country for 5 years; camps, clinics and in Columbus, OH and Bonita Springs Fl where I split my time living. Reached a high of #3 in the APP rankings, have won 3 US Open gold medals and many medals on the APP senior pro and super senior pro tours. Married to Andy, also a 5.0 level player and winner of multiple US Open gold medals, have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. Spnsored by Selkirk Sport, JIgsawHealth and Babolat shoes.

Welsher, Eva

Eva Welsher, born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan has had some type of racquet in her hand since she was a child. She was a top Junior Tennis Player in the country before becoming a scholar D1 athlete for Northwestern University. She helped NU win Big Ten Titles as well as be one of the best tennis programs in the country. She has lived a full life after tennis being married for 31 years to Geoff Welsher and has two sons, Geoffrey and Mac. After her boys grew up, she then competed in Paddle Tennis and became one of the best in the country as well before she finally picked up Pickleball. It’s been 5 years of training and competing for her. In 2021, she was #1 in Sr. Women’s Doubles and Sr. Mixed Doubles. In 2023, so far she has won Gold in Sr. Mixed Doubles in 5 of her 6 tournaments with different partners and won the US Open Sr. Mixed Event. She also is one of the best Sr. Women’s Doubles players on the tour. Eva loves Pickle Ball because it is an “inclusive sport.” Everyone is welcome. Anyone, no matter skill level, age or racquet background has a place in the PickleBall community. Eva’s goal is just to get better every day and spread her love of Pickleball through coaching and spreading the word.

Wilhelm, Helen

Helen is originally from England, but moved to the US as a child and became a US citizen in 1983. She was a collegiate tennis player, and won several USTA national tennis titles with her father, Ken Crump, and her daughter, Rachel Thompson. After having hip replacement surgery when she was 46, she was looking for a sport that was kinder to her body. Her father introduced her to pickleball in 2018, and she has been actively playing the senior tour since then. Helen has been a proud member of Team Engage since 2018.
