Chad Shane has a well-rounded sports background. After playing many sports in high school including football, basketball, and tennis, he went on to play college tennis at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. After his college career, he moved to Colorado where he would compete on a nationally ranked Rugby team. As an athlete who leveraged both his size and speed, he excelled in Rugby for many years.
After his rugby days, he focused on his family and enjoying a very adventurous outdoor Colorado life. Chad and his wife of 23 years have 2 sons, now 22 and 20, who are both very active in sports and the outdoors. Chad coached his boys in football, basketball, and baseball for many years when they were growing up while staying fit with sports of his own such as basketball, softball, golf, and others.
During COVID, just over 3 years ago, some of his friends asked him to come and play pickleball. Having a love for anything that involved a competition, he was more than happy to give it a try. Little did he know how addictive pickleball can be. Leveraging his sports background including rugby and tennis, he quickly excelled at the sport. Within 2 years he would be playing his first professional pickleball tournament. This led to the honor of being drafted to the Denver Iconics in the National Pickleball League.
On the career front, Chad was recently named President and CEO of Canvas Credit Union based in Colorado. Canvas is a $4.5 billion credit union with over 300,000 members and 715 employees. Before that, Chad served as the Chief Lending Officer and has been with Canvas Credit Union for over 13 years.
