She went on to play college basketball at Western Oregon University, winning two National Championships. After college, she coached at both the high school and college levels and stayed active in local leagues until the pandemic hit—leading her to discover a new passion: pickleball.

Now a wife and mom of four, Shelly has spent years cheering on her kids, but her love for competition never faded. After medaling in multiple tournaments and turning 50, she was encouraged to try out for the National Pickleball League and proudly played last season with the Denver Iconics.

Chad Shane playing pickleball at the net
  • Chad Shane has a well-rounded sports background. After playing many sports in high school including football, basketball, and tennis, he went on to play college tennis at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. After his college career, he moved to Colorado where he would compete on a nationally ranked Rugby team. As an athlete who leveraged both his size and speed, he excelled in Rugby for many years.
